Stan Jeffs is a native of Seattle, WA. He attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. As a freelance musician there, he performed with the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops Esplanade, Boston Ballet, and Boston Civic Orchestras.
He returned to the Pacific Northwest and is a very active player with many ensembles, including the orchestras of The Fifth Avenue and Paramount Theatres. Since 2000, he has been Principal Trombone of the Cathedral Brass of St. James Cathedral/Seattle. The summer of 2009 marked his 10th year as a musician in the American Sinfonietta/Bellingham Festival of Music. In addition, he has performed with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Northwest Sinfonietta, Auburn Symphony, and Tacoma Symphony Orchestras.
In 1995, he founded Cascadia Brass, a quintet that has participated in festivals, concerts, and events throughout the Northwest. He has been a featured soloist with many ensembles, including the Wenatchee Symphony (Grondahl Concerto), Seattle Civic and Boeing Concert Bands.
He is a faculty member/coach of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and teaches extensively. Principal teachers include Dennis Smith, Norman Bolter, and John Swallow.
He and his wife Laura were married in 1992 and reside in Seattle with their two cats, Sabrina and Jesse.
