I am convinced that New York City is one of best cities to visit in order to experience live music. It has more concerts on one weekend than many cities have in a year. If you have never visited, make plans soon! Here are just a few of the events that took place while I was in New York City for the IAJE Convention:
New York Philharmonic performing Strauss’ Alpine Symphony
Jim Pugh and Eijiro concert
David Taylor with the Mingus Big Band
Ray Vega on a club date
Bonerama at Coda
There were so many things happening here that I can’t wait to get back to work so I can focus on just a few things at a time. New York’s pace is second to none; it’s a great place for the arts. Be sure to go to live events as they are what we as musicians need to continue our craft.
