Nicolas Villers studied at the Royal Conservatory of Liège with Alain Pire where he received his Master diploma in bass trombone. After that, he studied at the Conservatory of Rotterdam (Codarts) on bass and contrabass trombone with Brandt Attema. He is also graduated with a pedagogy degree from the Royal Conservatory of Liège.
Nicolas has been the bass trombonist of the Royal Opera of Wallonia since 2015. He also plays regularly with various orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Rotterdam Philharmonic, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxembourg.
As a contemporary music player, Nicolas Villers is a member of the LAPS Ensemble and plays regularly with several ensembles like ICTUS, Musiques Nouvelles, and Sturm und Klang. He is also a member of the ensemble Open Slide (five-member low brass ensemble) and the new trombone ensemble Connected Slides.
In May 2014, Nicolas played as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège (during the first edition of the Classic Academy).
He teaches bass and contrabass trombone at the Royal Conservatory of Liège and he is professor of trombone at the Music Academy of Chênée and Liège.
