Josh Gagnon is a brass musician and educator living in Manhattan, New York. As a performer, Josh has sought out a diverse array of experiences, from symphony orchestras to freely improvising small groups. He has recorded and played throughout the Northeast United States with groups like the Soggy Po Boys, Seulah Noh Jazz Orchestra, Sojoy, OURBIGBAND, and the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra. In his teaching, Josh strives to bring these diverse performing experiences to a holistic pedagogical approach. He worked as an ensemble director at the Eastman School of Music, and currently serves as assistant director of New England Conservatory’s Jazz Composer Workshop Orchestra, TA in NEC’s departments of Jazz Studies and Music Theory, and trombone teaching artist around the northeast United States.
