Jorge Echevarría (born August 3, 1996, in Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican trombonist and a member of the global touring band of Bad Bunny, performing in major international productions and on some of the world’s most prominent stages. Recognized for his versatility and powerful musical presence, Echevarría has quickly established himself as one of the most active trombonists of his generation within the global Latin music scene.
His career has included appearances connected to some of the music industry’s most high-profile events, including the American Grammys 2023 and the Super Bowl 2026, further solidifying his presence on the international stage.
Throughout his career, he has shared the stage and collaborated with globally recognized artists such as Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Residente, Eladio Carrión, Mora, Marc Anthony, Rubén Blades, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Víctor Manuelle, La India, and Tito Nieves. His ability to navigate multiple genres—from salsa and Latin jazz to pop and urban music—has made him a sought-after musician for both live performances and recordings.
He has also worked alongside legendary and influential figures of Latin and tropical music, including Jerry Rivera, Luis Enrique, José Alberto “El Canario,” Ismael Miranda, Adalberto Santiago, Bobby Cruz, Maelo Ruiz, Rey Ruiz, Michael Stuart, Charlie Cruz, and Luis Figueroa.
In addition, Echevarría has collaborated with prominent instrumentalists and musicians such as Giovanni Hidalgo, Jerry Medina y La Banda, Humberto Ramírez, Luis Perico Ortiz, Rafael “El Pollo” Brito, Miguel de Jesús, and the Cuco Peña Philharmonic.
His musical versatility has also led him to perform with numerous Puerto Rican bands and projects, including Puerto Rican Power, Plena Libre, Plenéalo, Pleneros del Más Allá, Pleneros de la Cresta, Pirulo y La Tribu, NG2, N’Klave, Onda Moderna, Batuvibes, Sal Pa Fuera, En 3 y 2, Millo Torres y el 3er Planeta, Plena Sacra, Siglo XXI, Oquén2, Sin Nombre, and Salmón del Río, among others.
Echevarría’s musical journey began at an early age through the POSJU program, where he first discovered his passion for music. He began studying trombone with his first teacher, Agustín Guadalupe, and later continued his training with Gamalier González at the age of nine.
At twelve years old, he was admitted to the prestigious Escuela Libre de Música Ernesto Ramos Antonini in Hato Rey, one of Puerto Rico’s most respected music institutions. During this time, he also performed with the Puerto Rico Youth Symphony Orchestra, further developing his discipline, musicianship, and artistic identity.
Today, Jorge Echevarría continues to expand his international career as a professional trombonist, performing on global tours and contributing to major musical productions. His artistry reflects a deep commitment to musical excellence, versatility and the rich traditions of Caribbean and Latin music.
