Jared is a freelance musician and educator based in Lincoln, Nebraska. He is currently the low brass faculty member at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. Originally from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, Jared has been an active jazz and classical trombonist along the I29 corridor since 2015. He has taught 4-12 band in the school systems and private lessons for the last decade. Mr. Bade has bachelor’s degrees from Morningside College in music education and music performance. He has also completed a Master of Music degree in trombone performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jared’s mentors include Tony Hutchins, Russ Nagel, Thomas Ashworth, and Dr. Scott Anderson.
As an active jazz musician, Jared has performed or been a member of the Roseville Big Band (Minneapolis, Minnesota), Rock City Big Band (St. Cloud, Minnesota), Reggie Shiv Big Band (Sioux City, Iowa), Buffalo Orchestra (Buffalo, Minnesota) Sioux City Municipal Band (Sioux City, Iowa) as well as the Kearny Jazz Society and Lincoln’s Capital Jazz Society Big Bands. He was the lead trombonist for the West Metro Big Band based out of Monticello Minnesota during their 2023-24 before returning to his studies.
Mr. Bade is an active freelance musician taking gigs with local bands including the 402 & I80 horns. He performs in pit orchestras playing trombone and euphonium. In 2022 Jared was appointed to work at Great Music Productions in St. Cloud Minnesota as the trombonist in the pit orchestra during their 22-23 season. Jared also enjoys playing for local churches with peers in the brass quintet, Corn City Brass.
Jared has been an active member in many trombone ensembles. During his undergraduate studies, he helped found the Siouxland Trombone Choir which was comprised of Sioux City area players from high school to adults. While living in Minnesota he performed with the Minneapolis Trombone Choir during their 2023 season. He is currently a member of the ten-piece trombone group Live and Let Slide based out of Lincoln, Nebraska.
