Evan Williams

Principal Trombonist, Richmond Symphony

A native of Georgia, Evan Williams holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from Columbus State University, a Master of Music from the University of Texas at Austin (UT), and he is currently working towards a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trombone Performance at UT. His principal teachers include Nathaniel Brickens and Bradley Palmer.

Currently, Mr. Williams is Principal Trombonist of the Richmond Symphony and has performed with a number of orchestras, including the San Antonio Symphony, Memphis Symphony, Central Texas Philharmonic, Mid-Texas Symphony, Round Rock Symphony, Macon Symphony, and the Columbus Symphony. As a soloist, Mr. Williams has been a winner of several prestigious competitions staged by the International Trombone Association: The Frank Smith Solo Tenor Competition, The Lewis VanHaney Orchestral Competition, and The ITA Alto Trombone Competition. He was also named the winner of the Steven Zellmer Orchestral Trombone Competition in 2019.
