Stefan Sanders
Bass Trombonist, Buffalo Philharmonic
Stefan Sanders has been bass trombonist with the Buffalo
Philharmonic Orchestra since 1999. He received his bachelor of music degree
from the Juilliard School of Music where he was a student of
Donald Harwood. He also is a graduate from the Interlochen Arts
Academy where he received his diploma, studying with Jeannie
Little.
He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, Florida Orchestra,
Seattle Symphony, and the Seattle Opera's 2001 production of
Wagner's Ring Cycle. While in New York he gave the world
premiere of Eric Ewazen's Concerto for Bass Trombone and
Orchestra with the Juilliard Orchestra and
Maestro Jahjah Ling in Avery Fischer Hall. He has since performed
the work with the Army Orchestra
and Band at the Eastern Trombone Workshop and recorded the work
with the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra on a CD entitled
Bass Hits.
Sanders is also a member of United
Brass. The United Brass ensemble
has released a CD available at www.unitedbrass.org. Sanders is
on the faculties of SUNY Buffalo and SUNY Fredonia. |
