Bass Trombone Accessories

The Edwards B454 is a fully modular instrument that can be custom fit to any player. In addition to numerous bell, slide, and valve options, the following accessories allow a bass trombonist to find the perfect sound and feel for every occasion.

Bass Convertor

Bass ConvertorPrice: $325.00
Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 weeks

The Bass Convertor (BC401) replaces the second valve on the B454, turning it into a single valve bass trombone. This convertor is ideal for those situations where a lighter sound is ideal. Since it also removes a lot of resonating mass, it can lighten the sound for early period music.

Open Bass Neckpipe

Open Bass NeckpipePrice: $325.00
Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 weeks

For those times when a concert series is void of valve notes, rest your arm and shoulder by employing the Open Bass Neckpipe (BN400). Couple this neckpipe with a smaller 9" bell, and you have the perfect setup for a section including an alto and small tenor.

Optional Tuning Slides

D SlidePrice: $300.00
Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 weeks

The Eb tuning slide takes the place of the Gb slide on the independent B454. It gives the player a low Eb with only the second valve depressed.

The D tuning slide also takes the place of the Gb slide on the independent B454. This slide will greatly shorten the distance a bass trombonist has to move his slide in the valve register.

The optional second valve slides offer numerous possibilities for alternate slide positions. These slides are very large and add weight and length to the horn. However, the added weight is offset by the improved balance these slides can provide.

Counterweight

CounterweightPrice: $50.00
Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 weeks

The Edwards counterweight not only balances the horn, preventing it from becoming "bell heavy," but it also can have a positive effect on the way it plays. The addition of the counterweight can darken the sound while making it easier to slot the partials. On the other hand, for those players that want a wider sound, the counterweight may not be a positive addition to your horn.

Wood Trigger Lever

Wood Trigger LeversPrice: $20.00

In our constant pursuit of perfection, we are offering another option for our trombone customers. Three wood trigger dowels are now available on our valved trombone models. This upgrade is only $20.

Thanks go to Armin Clobes and Edwards Associate Michael Clobes for “triggering” the project.

If you have a horn on order and want to switch from the plastic delrin please contact us immediately. If you have an existing instrument you can remove your delrin trigger and replace it with wood as well. We can talk you through this procedure on the phone.
